official statement:
The 6 reasons why Afrobeats is the greatest genre of music ever created by Nigerians/Africans:

I put more emphasis on the word “NIGERIANS” because of the general hate, negativity and the stereotypes toward the Nigerians.

In case you have not been paying close attention, Afrobeats has grown beyond music and entertainment, it’s now a SOCIO-CULTURAL movement, and the NIGERIAN YOUTH are, at the forefront of this REVOLUTION for the following reasons:

(A) ~ It’s the first genre of Music that doesn’t objectify Black women, nor call them Bitches.

(B) ~ It’s the only genre of music that actively promote Afrocentrism; gone are the days when only light skin vixens or White ladies are used as the standard of beauty in videos.

Now every shades of color is duly represented and Black women are particularly represented in a more positive way.

(C) ~ it’s the only genre of music that promotes Afro-aesthetics; it promotes African fashion, beautiful landscape, cultures and languages. (Igbos, Yoruba, Swahili, Hausa, Twi, Zulu, Xhosa, etc.)

E.g : check out the song “Available” by Patoranking, or “Melanin” by Sauti Sol of Kenya or Yemi Alade

(D) ~ It’s the only genre of music that doesn’t promote Gun violences; killing, kidnapping, Money-Ritual, thuggery or gangsterism.

(E) ~ It’s the only genre of music that does promote alcohol and drug culture.

(F) ~ It’s the only genre of music that promotes Pan-Africanism: Afrobeats has unconsciously united the African people with the Diaspora.

During the 1980s in England, it was more fashionable to identify with the West Indies.

Nigerians and other African students living and studying in England would rather identify as Jamaicans.

But Afrobeats has broken that myth, it’s now cool and very fashionable to identify as an Nigerian/African with pride.

All these was achieved because the Nigerian Youth are bold, adventurous, proud and loud, they pushed every barrier, they traveled, they paid huge amounts of money to organize shows around the world and they are forcing the world to listen to Africa.

But this is the just the beginning.
